MY APPROACH
Hi, I’m Hilary, the Owner and Founder of Vive. I’m a Registered Social Worker who provides trauma-informed therapy.
Our human experiences are complex, and on this journey towards self-acceptance and authenticity, you take the lead. I help you navigate this path feeling safe and confident, with a compassionate, strengths-based approach that helps you reconnect to your story.
Each session offers a supportive space to reconnect with yourself, nurture curiosity, and develop the resources you need for healing, growth and meaningful change, drawing from a best-practice informed lens, such as:
Somatic Experiencing (SE)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
Neuro-Attachment Relational Model (NARM)
Meditation & Mindfulness
Developmental, Relational and Attachment-Based Therapy
Drawing from an integrative approach, together, our sessions will invite you to explore the connection between your mind, body, and spirit.
MORE ABOUT ME, A TRAUMA-INFORMED THERAPIST
Nature enthusiast, world-traveller, and your biggest supporter.
I've always believed that we are perfectly imperfect. And I feel called to help others uncover their inner strength, harness their resilience, and embrace their unique story.
My lived experience has taught me how it feels to be stuck and disconnected. Yet, healing comes from reconnecting — from recognizing our empathy and our compassion. And travel has allowed me to deepen in my own growth as a person and therapist.
The time I spent in India opened my eyes to the power of Mindfulness, Meditation, Yoga and Ayurveda. I learned about how interconnected we truly are, our body and its inner wisdom, and how we can trust in this wisdom to begin to heal.
I slowly began to inform my practices from lived experiences as well as time spent in India, coupled with evidence-based, trauma-informed practices. I have 30 years of both professional and personal (life) experience. I have decades of life which allows me to support individuals who have experienced career burnout, front line trauma responders, anxiety, depression, women’s health, life-transitions, attachment wounds, or developmental trauma.
This led me to start my practice in 2018, with a whole-person lens, one that honours our invisible shelf, your inner library you carry inside filled with every story that ever shaped you.
Together, we will work towards understanding of who you are, connecting to your nervous system and understanding how we can both heal and connect in a healing and therapeutic relationship .
WORKING WITH ME
Embracing our stories can help us find our deepest heart’s desire.
Our past experiences impact how we connect with both ourselves and others.
With compassion and curiosity, you can navigate these parts ,and feel connection again.
I am available to hold a safe space for you to be you. To be witness to the unfolding of your story.
